Libya: Gaddafi attacked the pro-Misrata, 30 insurgents killed

Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi attacked the town of Misrata, controlled by the opposition, killing at least 30 deaths among insurgents, reported Sunday the Western media.

"Gaddafi's troops attacked on three fronts Misrata. At least 30 rebels were killed in the city", said one of the insurgents.
The rebellion has still managed to repel the attack by government forces.
Protests against Muammar Gaddafi, in power for over 40 years, began in Libya in mid-February before degenerating into armed protest. On 17 March the Security Council of the UN adopted a resolution providing for the establishment of an air exclusion zone over the country and allowing the use of force to protect the population of Libyan troops of Colonel Gaddafi. The international operation began March 19, involving among others Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Spain, the United States, France, Britain and Italy. March 31, NATO took command of operations.
